Connecting Specific Domains
App Mode now allows you to connect specific domains, alongside connecting apps to different server locations. This currently available on both iOS and Android.
1. What is the difference between a domain and a website/URL?
A domain includes all pages and services that share the same domain name.
For example, the domain google.com includes the following websites:
After adding the domain google.com in App Mode, when you visit any website with that domain, they will connect to the VPN server that you have selected.

2. How do I know which domain to connect?
If you want to connect a specific website, it may not always be obvious which domain it belongs to.
Simply provide the URL, and we will automatically extract the correct domain for you in the backend.
3. How do I use this feature?
First, add a domain or website to your App Mode list and select a server location.
Next, turn on the VPN connection for App Mode.
On the same device, you may now visit that domain or website on any browser and it will connect through SafeShell VPN.
4. When will this be available on other platforms?
Once we have resolved any potential issues with this new feature, we aim to release it on other platforms, with Windows and Mac being a key priority. Stay tuned!
